Which end of the ironing board do you use? Before I was married (and my family still does) I used the narrow, rounded end. But when I got married, Wes used the wide end. Since it was always turned that way, I started using the wide end too. And now . . . I can't imagine using the narrow end! I was watching 20/20 tonight, and they were interviewing men and women who were training to be household managers for the rich and famous. In one segment, the instructor tells his students to "always, always, always use the wide end of the ironing board." Ironing on the wide end allows you to cover more surface area of the item you're working on, which makes the work go quicker. I thought it was pretty neat that I've been doing that for 22 years! So how about you? Which end of the board do you use? Would you consider switching to the wide end? I'm a member of a women's online forum, and we had this discussion several months ago. Please scroll to the bottom to see my exciting addition to this post! Today I'll join in with Kelli's Show and Tell Friday for my December Daily post. As some of you may know, last Friday night I was honored to speak at the ladies' Christmas Tea at Greater Vancouver Baptist Church . One of my blog friends, Deanna , took pictures of the tables the ladies decorated, and I want to share those pictures with you (after I get permission to steal her pictures!), but today I want to show you how the ladies blessed me last week. The ladies of GVBC gave me this beautiful tea-for-one set. It's called Blue Ribbons, from Maxwell & Williams . At first I didn't understand "blue ribbons" because I was focused on the gorgeous roses, but then I saw the blue ribbon interwoven with the roses. Isn't it beautiful?! I just love it, and I've already served myself my favorite tea from it! I felt like such a lady of leisure with my own little personal teapot! ;) ...
I've read lots of opinions on lots of things during my years online. Wes was a programmer in the US Air Force from 1990 till 1996, and naturally, as e-mail and the internet came into more common use, our family was on the front edge of technology. I remember searching the web for Christian women's sites, and finding very little. After a while, more and more Christian sites began showing up, and I began reading and joining forums. It came to the point that I was reading about lifestyles varying somewhat from my rather mainstream independent Baptist upbringing. Some of it made sense to me, other things were a little far out there for me. None of it was wrong, though, and everyone had Scripture to back up what they believed. The latest thing to hit the internet is the blog. Everybody has one, at least everyone who knows what a blog is! And that includes me, of course. I love blogging. Anyway . . . we all read each other's blogs and it's almost like a parallel soc...
