Seven Blessings For The New Year

Here's another little New Year's gem I came across the other day. Since it's only January 3rd, we can still do New Year things, right?! I liked this because it is scriptural, each blessing straight from God's Word. I hope you enjoy it!

Seven Blessings For The New Year

May the Lord's presence this coming year be:

ABOVE YOU- to guard.
"Know therefore this day...that the Lord He is God in heaven above."
(Deuteronomy 4:39)

UNDERNEATH- to support.
"The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms."
(Deuteronomy 33:27)

BEHIND- as a rereward.
"The God of Israel will be your rereward."
(Isaiah 52:12)

AT YOUR RIGHT HAND- to protect.
"Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved."
(Psalm 16:8)

BEFORE- to lead.
"I will go before thee and make the crooked places straight."
(Isaiah 45:2)

ROUND ABOUT- to shield from storms.
"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem so the Lord is round about His people from henceforth even forever."
(Psalm 125:2)

WITHIN- as Companion and Comforter.
"And I will put my Spirit within you."
(Ezekiel 36:27)
"I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me"
(Galatians 2:20)

    This is such a blessing, Susan! Thanks for sharing. I personally think we can still do New Year things right through the month of January. I noticed that I had posted my goals for 2012 at the *end* of the month!

    These are great! I did a study one time about prepositions like this -- we are totally surrounded by God's love and care.

Who - or What - Is Your God?

I've read lots of opinions on lots of things during my years online. Wes was a programmer in the US Air Force from 1990 till 1996, and naturally, as e-mail and the internet came into more common use, our family was on the front edge of technology. I remember searching the web for Christian women's sites, and finding very little. After a while, more and more Christian sites began showing up, and I began reading and joining forums. It came to the point that I was reading about lifestyles varying somewhat from my rather mainstream independent Baptist upbringing. Some of it made sense to me, other things were a little far out there for me. None of it was wrong, though, and everyone had Scripture to back up what they believed. The latest thing to hit the internet is the blog. Everybody has one, at least everyone who knows what a blog is! And that includes me, of course. I love blogging. I first saw this several months ago on Jessica's Journal , who found it at Amy's Place , and I knew I wanted to do it here. I'm just now getting to it.
