Yes, the Oprah book is secular, but I've seen quite a few things in it that are interesting in light of Christianity and American culture. I hope to write a bit about some of them.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08733406219995902188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7118355.post-49756292264227505142010-07-07T18:26:05.717-07:002010-07-07T18:26:05.717-07:00I Susan oh no I love Elizabeth's writings. Hope life settles down for you soon!

Tammy ~ Mrs. George talks near the end of the book about how sometimes those top priorities will be dropped or shift positions during specific times like sickness of a family member. Your mom is one of those very top priorities right now! Spend as much time as you can with her!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08733406219995902188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7118355.post-12446495334951629472010-07-07T15:02:26.593-07:002010-07-07T15:02:26.593-07:00Susan, I enjoyed that book very much when I read i...Susan, I enjoyed that book very much when I read it but haven't for a year or two. Too much of things is a struggle for most of us...the only thing we cannot have too much of is Jesus - He should be our passion. I do believe we should have a passion for our husband and children and things at home but Jesus should be our biggest. Prioritizing is the key to keeping the important things first. Sometimes life just pushes us forward and we don't get to do the things we intend to or want to. Right now my mom is a big priority because tho I believe God will heal her, I don't know for sure He will so my time with her may be very short. I will be with her as much as possible. So cleaning the church building isn't as important as it was 4 months ago or a bulletin made every single week. I do the things right now that are absolute necessities and if the smaller stuff can be fit in then I do it otherwise I don't sweat it.Tammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07627192661411025289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7118355.post-35931317653826963192010-07-06T06:53:11.525-07:002010-07-06T06:53:11.525-07:00Thanks for sharing!!
