We've been waiting what seems like a long time, but spring has finally arrived in Kelowna! Today was warm, sunny, and very windy, and we enjoyed it so much!
I can't believe 2011 is one-quarter over already. It's almost sad how fast the time goes.
This spring is going to be busy. Here's what's happening in the next two months:
Missions Conference - April 10-13 - this will be our first missions conference to host since Wes has been pastoring. At our church in North Vancouver, we had a Missions Emphasis Month each year, with 2-3 missionaries coming to present their work throughout the month. This year we're having a full-blown conference, with two missionary families coming in.
Mid-April, I'll gain a year! :) I'm always thankful for another year of life.
Youth Rally - April 20-22 - our teens are going to Williams Lake, BC, for a youth rally at another Baptist church. Although Beth won't be going (and neither will Wes and I), it's still a big event on our church calendar.
Beth's high school graduation party - April 29 - Beth is finished with her school work and high school! We'll be having a reception for her on the 29th to celebrate her graduation. She worked hard this year to finish up early, and we're proud of the job she's done. I still have to get her grades finished and her transcript sent to our home church's school, but she's finished with her work.
Samuel's college graduation - May 11 - I can't believe Sam's four years of college are almost over already! He's done well. He has been involved in drama, music, student leadership, preaching, summer tours, and has taken full loads each semester and worked full-time most semesters. I can't wait to see him graduate!
Wes and I are taking a summer vacation before summer this year! LOL We're going to take our time coming home from Sam's graduation and go see some places we've always wanted to see. We will officially be "empty-nesters" so we're taking advantage of it! ;) We'll be leaving Beth in Lancaster to work over the summer in preparation for her first year of college. Andrew will be in Lancaster all summer, so he will be there to look out for her, and she will be working part time on campus. It's not my first choice, but it's the one that works best for her. So the vacation will be partially to help me recover from leaving my baby!
So that's our spring. It's busy but exciting! Here we go!
No, we're not moving again! After almost 10 years of blogging in the same place, my blog is moving. My new address is www.susanhutc...
