Happy Friday! Just wanted to check in with you to say thanks for all the well-wishes upon our move. Today the house pretty much looks normal, except for the fact that we don't have very many decorations up yet, and we have no curtains up. We have mini blinds, and they look so clean and simple that we haven't felt the need to rush to get our curtains up. My craft room is a storage central until Wes's office is done, so I just close the door if someone is coming by and call it good.
We have hit the ground running this week! In addition to our regular church services and visiting, we've already made a hospital visit. The lady is not a member of our church, but she is an acquaintance of a pastor 3 hours away - which happens to be one of the nearest independent Baptist churches in BC - and he asked if Wes and I could drop by to see her. She has some serious health problems, and this is the closest hospital with the facilities to care for her. We're not in Vancouver anymore, y'all! She seemed so glad to see us. Her family is at home, 3 hours away, and she's already been here 10 days. Can you imagine being 3 hours from your family and sick?
Several of the ladies in our church are getting together for a craft night tonight, and they asked if I'd like to come. Would I???!!!! This is right up my alley! Beth is babysitting for one lady, which is something she loves to do. Tomorrow is bus visitation and door-knocking again, then Sunday is a full day of church . . . so we are busy already, even after just a week of living here.
My Granny always said, "Idle hands are the devil's workshop" or something like that. Well, the sign is out for him: Too busy for you to even bother! LOL This is spoken facetiously, of course. We know that our protection from Satan and his temptations comes from the Lord, not from just being too busy.
What are your plans for the weekend?
