Here are a few pictures of Wes's family. He is also the oldest of five children. We all got together on Monday after Thanksgiving at his brother's in Charlotte. This is the first time all of his family has been together in a while too. The only ones missing were his parents, who are missionaries in Jamaica. They've had to come to the US several times in recent months for medical and other reasons, so they weren't able to come home this time. We sure missed them!
Here are Wes and his brothers and only sister. Left to right are Walt, Wes, and Robert, with Albert and Patricia seated in front.
Here are the sisters-in-law. We took some silly pics for our father-in-law, who is always teasing us, but this is our one decent picture. On the left is Doreen, Walt's wife; me; and Holly, Robert's wife.
Next is all the grandkids on this side of the family. We have 7 on this side, with two unmarried siblings, so we expect more here too! Beth is holding Thad, the newest baby, age 7 months; Samuel is holding Ellie, age 2; and Andrew is holding Layne, age 2, and Sydney, age 4. Thad, Layne, and Sydney are siblings.
This is Wes with his grandparents. They are 86 years old and have been married for almost 66 years! They're our only grandparents still living. I have a soft spot in my heart for Wes's granddad, because Wes is so much like him and he is the only grandpa I remember having. Both of my grandfathers passed away before I was old enough to remember them. We love to go see Grandmother and Granddaddy. Grandmother makes sure the kids have cookies and ice cream, no matter what time of day we're there! It made lunch cheaper Tuesday; none of the kids were hungry!
