I know some families who just agonize over a wayward child, feeling that it's completely their fault and wondering what they could have done differently. They never stop to consider that God is the perfect parent and still has wayward children, as you said. Excellent reminder!

Michelle, it was just on my heart as we talked about it yesterday, and with our own children getting into their young adult years. How they're turning out is constantly on my heart.

Helen, we homeschool also, and it seems that sometimes we homeschoolers can get so caught up with doing everything just right, like raising children is a formula, that we forget that the children themselves have a free will and that God can and will guide them just as He has done for us parents. Thanks for your insight!

Tori, thanks for reading and commenting. I feel like a part of my heart goes into some of my posts, and it is always nice to get a comment to let me know that friends are reading and nodding their heads!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08733406219995902188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7118355.post-36358609390899633202008-07-25T11:57:00.000-07:002008-07-25T11:57:00.000-07:00Great post, Amen!Great post, Amen!Tori Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00859488167015452608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7118355.post-8833050348243326842008-07-25T09:31:00.000-07:002008-07-25T09:31:00.000-07:00This is a great post. We have so many expectations for our children. But you know what? I love the Lord more for giving me that free will. He is truly worthy of our praise and adoration. When we fully realize that He, GOD HIMSELF, humbled himself for us, how can we NOT be drawn to him?Helen Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10858208782416224178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7118355.post-56718124023285636322008-07-25T08:45:00.000-07:002008-07-25T08:45:00.000-07:00Amen! I thought -- God is a perfect parent, but look at His kids!

Thank God for His grace and for ministering to them despite our mistakes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
