|Michael and Kim Boling|
The latest update on our friend, Kim Boling, from her father, indicates that the doctors are losing the battle for Kim's life. She has had surgery each day for the past 3 days. They've taken skin and tissue from her left thigh, left arm, and in her left chest area. She has started dialysis to help with the loss of kidney function. Today doctors are transporting Kim to the hospital in Tulsa, OK, where there is a burn unit that can treat her surgical wounds more efficiently. Pastor Slate, her father, says that the infection is spreading faster than they can keep up through surgery. Apparently the antibiotics are still not working.
Kim is on a ventilator and sedated, but she can respond when people talk to her. Her husband, Michael, asked if she wanted the children to say goodbye to her before she left for Tulsa, and she nodded her head yes. The nurses very carefully covered her so that the children couldn't see the wounds from surgery, and they were able to talk to her. Michael said that her chance of survival when she originally admitted to the hospital was 20%, and now that chance is slimmer. In his words, "I sure do love her, but God loves her even more." He said he hasn't lost hope, but he is acknowledging that God is in control.
Please, please continue to pray for Kim, her husband, their children, and her parents (Claud and Carol Slate) and siblings. Thank you so much for your prayers thus far!
