Emergency Prayer Request

It seems like all I ever do here sometimes is ask you all for prayer! We're in the midst of our Family Conference right now, and enjoying it so much, but we learned yesterday of a very serious situation that I want to ask your prayer about.

A friend of ours, Kim Slate Boling, whom we knew in Texas years ago, is a young wife and mother of four children. Yesterday she was taken to the hospital with extremely low blood pressure. The doctors found that her kidneys were not functioning properly. They suspected an infection of some sort, so they started her on antibiotics immediately. After no improvement, the infection began attacking her other major organs, and she had to go on a ventilator because it was too much work for her to breathe on her own.

This morning, doctors did a culture on a blister that rose on her body. The results take 1-3 days to return, and in the meantime, she is only getting worse. Doctors now suspect an extremely aggressive bacterial infection and have taken Kim into surgery to remove infected tissue and skin from her left thigh and to look into her chest cavity and left shoulder.

I don't know all the details of why and how and all that of the surgery and treatment, but the bottom line is, Kim is literally fighting for her life. Two days ago she was completely healthy. Whatever this is, it is raging through her body and no amount or kind of medication is working. She's only 36 years old, a wife and mother of young children, and a beloved daughter. Please, please take a moment and bring her before our Father!

  6. Thank you all for praying for Kim! Keep it up; she isn't anywhere near getting well yet. Praise God she is doing some better today, though.
