The Week in Words

Welcome to The Week In Words, where we share quotes from the last week’s reading. If something you read this past week  inspired you, caused you to laugh, cry, think, dream, or just resonated with you in some way, please share it with us, attributing it to its source, which can be a book, newspaper, blog, Facebook — anything that you read.

My quotes this week come from my cough-drop wrappers! LOL For several weeks, I've had trouble with a dry, tickly throat, so I keep Hall's Vitamin C drops in my purse. The other day I noticed that each wrapper has some short motivational thoughts on it, both in French and English. I'm assuming the French ones are the same as the English ones! ;) Most of these thoughts are pump-you-up type motivational fluff that has no basis in Scripture, but yesterday I looked through the pile of wrappers in my purse (ahem) and found several that were worth remembering:

"Don't waste a precious minute!"

"Don't try harder; do harder."

"March forward!"

Those three quotes sum up what I've been learning lately: to never waste time; to not just try, but to do; and to keep going forward. God is all about going forward (Philippians 3:13,14)! I hope you'll have a good week using your time wisely, working hard, and moving forward!

  1. I love your source. ha. I noticed awhile back that my little calendar I keep in my purse has quotes at the top. They're not usually "biblical" either, but they do contain truth.

The three you're sharing are very good for me to hear too. So something good came out of you having a scratchy throat. :-)

Huh -- I use the honey-lemon Halls and hadn't noticed that, but I haven't bought any yet this year, so maybe it's new, or maybe it's just in Canada? It's neat that they all worked together to coordinate with what you've been learning from the Word!

  3. Lisa ~~ I think it's fun to find good quotes in unexpected places! :)

Barbara ~~ I don't know if the regular cough drops have the sayings on them or not. I didn't notice when I was using cough drops earlier. Now I just use the Vit C drops just to have something to keep my throat moist.
