Time For Prayer Again

Many of you probably remember last Thanksgiving, when our friends, Allen and Alicia Little, learned that their little 5-year-old boy Kendrick had a brain tumor. His prognosis was about a year at that time. He had surgery and radiation treatments, and the tumor shrank a good bit - more than the doctor had expected. All this year, the Littles have enjoyed some sweet times with Kendrick and their 5 other children. Kendrick has done well these months.

Last week, however, it was time for a checkup. Alicia wrote of noticing changes indicating that the tumor was back, but they didn't want to think of that. Today they are hurting as they face reality: Kendrick's tumor is indeed back. The doctors have prepared the family to lose their boy within the next two weeks.

Please pray for this family. It hurts - all of us who know them are hurting - but most of all their family is hurting. As always, you can read Kendrick's story and updates at his Care Page.

This is the latest update from Allen:

I really don't know where to start or how to begin, we just recieved word that we have maybe a couple of days or maybe a couple of weeks left for my little boy. The pressure in his head is really severe. Hospice has been set up at Home for our arrival, we have sat down with the kids and told of the coming days, the tumor has grown significantly, we had to sign an Advance Directive this is a horrible time, we are all holding tight to Kendrick feeling every breath stroking every surface trying to just hold on to every moment. Even in this scary, sorrowful time we find comfort God has been so Good to us we had enjoyed some really really great days, and I know there will be more to come. God is good and God is right. Our hearts are heavy!

  1. Words seem so inadequate here except those sent through prayer on their behalf. May they feel God's arms wrapped tightly around them during this time.
