Changes

Life is full of changes, and the past few weeks and months have brought some changes to our life. About 1 1/2 years ago, our pastor of 14 years resigned from our sending church, Baptist Temple in Ft. Worth, TX. Several weeks later, the church voted to call a new pastor. As often happens when a new pastor comes on board, some people leave the church in the following weeks. This happened at our church, which is normal. Recently, though, more people have left, which has left a large burden upon the ministry there when it comes to caring for the missionaries our church sponsors. Over the past few months, as we've seen the changes taking place at Baptist Temple, Wes and I began to pray and discuss whether it might be necessary to change our sending church - not for doctrinal reasons, but for practical reasons. After much counsel from our current pastor, our former pastor, and the pastor of the church we felt lead to join - and all three men concurring that this decision is best for us and for our sending church - we have moved our US church membership to Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs, AR. Our pastor now is Bro. Eric Capaci, whom we admire and respect tremendously. We haven't changed anything except our sending church; we still hold the same doctrines, convictions, and standards that we always have, and our ministry here remains unchanged. We love our former church family, and will always have a place in our hearts for the friends we grew to love there. We also thank Pastor Bruce Engelman for his support throughout the short time we've known him, even though we've never met him personally. He's been great through this whole process! Pastor Capaci has also been a great help, making us welcome there at Gospel Light and making this transition a smooth one.
