Yesterday was a Very Important Day in the Hutchens household: it was Beth's birthday! Our baby turned 14 yesterday, and she got a shopping trip as her gift from her dad and me. She and I left out about 10 yesterday morning for Bellingham, WA and the Bellis Fair Mall, where we shopped till we dropped. Actually, we looked till we dropped! LOL Beth was looking for some shoes, and when we found the ones she wanted, they didn't have her size. She wears a large, hard-to-find size (it's at least hard to find at a price we can afford). Payless Shoes has styles she likes, but they don't have half-sizes, so she usually ends up buying about a half size bigger than she needs. Anyway, we had a great time visiting some of our favorite stores, Beth got a new purse and an earring holder, and on the way home we solved all the world's problems - don't all mothers and daughters do that?!
Our Beth has always been a joy to us. She was a happy, serene baby and she has grown into a calm, mature young lady. She loves babies and puppies, and all things tiny are deemed just "too cute!" She likes anything in blue and brown, and loves retro designs - you know, the things that were around when I was a little girl - and she's my right hand here in the house. She can also make some out-of-this-world cookies, which her brothers have been known to pay her to make for them. She thinks the sun rises and sets in her Daddy and both of her Grandpas, but she still likes her Mom and Grandmas too! ;) She's in her third year of piano lessons, and just between us, I think she's doing a fantastic job of playing. And she sings, too - got that talent from her Dad.
Beth, sorry I didn't get this on here yesterday, but you can be sure that your Daddy and I love you beyond words, Baby Girl!
