O Canada!

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

This is the national anthem of Canada. We sang it at the Remembrance Day Ceremony today, and I love its words. I especially love the final two lines, which say "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee." They remind me of the verses in Isaiah about the watchman, and "what of the night?" What of the night here in Canada, in the US, around the world? It's a dark hour; we must stand on guard for the souls of men. God has called our family here to Canada to stand on guard . . . to point the way in the darkness of night . . . O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
