I got an e-mail today from friends we met while traveling to raise support for our work here. We were with their church last July for a week-long missions conference, and they invited us to their house for some fellowship. And what sweet fellowship it turned out to be!
Lawana is one of those ladies who stirs my heart to be and do more for the Lord. She's an "iron-sharpeneth-iron" kind of friend, one who "provokes unto good works." Every minute that we spent on their ranch was full of joy and contentment, which sent me on my way with a clearer vision of what a family should be.
This special family has opened their arms to special-needs children from other countries who have no one else to care for them. Each child in their home is loved unconditionally and taught to love others and put them first. It's modeled for them every day by their parents, which makes all the difference in the world! It's not "do as I say," it's "do as I do."
One of those children stole my husband's heart last summer. Ezra is a young kidney transplant patient who was fascinated with Wes's Canada necktie. Ezra followed Wes around all week and found himself a place on Wes's lap more than once. They became fast friends, and by the end of the week, Wes's Canada tie was Ezra's Canada tie!
Hosanna Ranch is this family's website and blog, and it will be a great blessing to you. Be sure to click on the link near the top of the page entitled "Loving Greatly, by Lawana" to read about their latest adoption and how the Lord leads them - and they follow. You won't be disappointed!
And don't forget to look at all the pictures!
